Waltham Forest Refugee Appeal – applications are now CLOSED.
In September 2021, the Council organised the Waltham Forest Refugee Appeal. This was a crowdfunder set up to harness the goodwill of residents whose circumstances allowed who wanted to make donations towards projects run by local organisations in support of new and existing refugees.
The Appeal formed part of the Council’s wider response to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, which included welcoming new arrivals from Afghanistan.
Donations came from all manner of sources, including individuals, businesses and community groups.
Over £12,000 was raised in the community crowdfunder campaign and the Council received many applications for a share of the funds raised.
