Waltham Forest Refugee Appeal: applications are now CLOSED.
In September 2021, the Council organised the Waltham Forest Refugee Appeal. This was a crowdfunder to harness the goodwill of residents who wanted to make donations towards projects run by local organisations. This was in support of new and existing refugees.
The appeal formed part of the Council’s wider response to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. This included welcoming new arrivals from Afghanistan.
Donations came from all manner of sources, including individuals, businesses, and community groups.
Over £12,000 was raised in the community crowdfunder campaign and we received many applications for a share of the funds raised.
Following a competitive award process, the following funds were allocated to local organisations.
