The 16 to 17 Participation team offer NEET young people a one-to-one personal careers guidance interview with a professionally qualified level 6 careers adviser.

A careers guidance interview is an impartial, confidential, one-to-one meeting between you and a careers adviser. A guidance interview can last about 45 minutes. A careers guidance interview is not like a job interview - there are no right or wrong answers.

During a guidance interview, the careers adviser will help you to:

  • identify your personal qualities and skills you would like to develop
  • explore your interests, likes and dislikes, family influences, personal barriers and work experience
  • think about how study, work experience, and home life can all contribute to your employability
  • come up with ideas for study and work
  • explore current and future job opportunities and specific career areas open to you.

Pre-booked appointments are available on a Friday only at Leyton Library via video call or face to face.

To make a booking and to register your child as NEET, please contact the 16 to 17 Participation team on:

Email: participationservice@walthamforest.gov.uk
Phone: 020 84961920

We are available from Wednesday to Friday, 10:30am to 3:30pm
