Payment system downtime (15 March 2026)
All online and telephone payments will be unavailable from 10am to 1pm on Sunday 15 March 2026 due to scheduled maintenance. Parking payments are not affected by this downtime. Thank you for your patience.
This course is provided Free for people who live, work or study in Waltham Forest. We are asking for a £10 deposit, payable on booking, to minimise no-shows. This will be refunded to anyone who attends once the session has taken place.
This is a beginner's one-day class, suitable for anyone wanting to learn how to keep a bike in good working order. Learn how to fix a puncture, adjust brakes, index gears and lubricate your chain correctly. The course is for adults (18 years +). Young adults (16 +) are welcome to join if accompanied by a participating adult. All participants need to bring their own bike to work on.
Basic Bike Maintenance Class Syllabus
Morning: Session 1 - 10:00 to 12:45
Lunch: 12:45 to 13:15
Afternoon: Session 2 - 13:15 to 16:00
NB. This is a hands on course so please bring your own bike to work on and wear suitable clothing. Expect to get your hands dirty!
