What changes you need to tell us about
Even small changes to your situation can affect how much Council Tax you pay.
You can use the online form to tell us if, for example:
- there is a change in your income or benefits
- there is a change in the income or benefits of anyone living with you
- anyone moves in or out of your home
- anyone comes to stay with you (even for a short time)
- your working hours change
- you change jobs
- you start or stop working
- your wealth or savings increase above £6,000
- you or anyone living with you will be away from home for more than 4 weeks
- you go into or come out of hospital
- you're moving out of the borough
- you're moving into the borough

Providing evidence
You may be asked to provide evidence of your change of situation, such as proof of address or income.
You can provide evidence using the online form
You’ll need to:
- take a picture or scan of the document you want to send us, and save it on your computer
- attach the files that you want to send to us to the form
- submit the form
File types you can submit
We accept the following file types:
- GIF
- JPG
- JPEG
- TIFF
- BMP
- PNG
No single file should be more than 10MB in size.

We can’t accept responsibility for documents that are lost in the post.
If you choose to send original documents by post, please allow 2-5 working days for these documents to be returned before making any contact about missing documents.
Providing evidence in person
You can only drop off evidence at one of our libraries Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, regardless of a particular library's opening hours.
