Report a change of address for Council Tax

If you’re new to the borough

If you have recently moved to the borough and do not yet have a Council Tax reference number, you’ll need to register at your new address. 

To register your property or update your address, follow these steps:

Step 1

Register your property or update your address 

Once registered, we will send you a Council Tax bill with your reference number (starting with a 4 or 7). You’ll need this number to set up your Council Tax Connect account.  

Step 2 

Register to access your Council Tax Connect account 

If you’re moving within or out of the borough

You must tell us about a change of address using your Council Tax Connect account.

When you are logged in, follow these steps: 

  • click ‘Show details’
  • choose  ‘Report a change of address’
  • follow the instructions to report your change of address 

If you’re having problems accessing your account, complete the Connect Portal query form.

If you are a landlord, property owner or managing agent

If you are a landlord, property owner or managing agent, you must tell us if your tenants have changed.

Select ‘I am a landlord/managing agent and want to tell you about tenancy changes.’
