Who we are and what we do

Commissioning community-based drug and alcohol services is a statutory requirement of Local Authorities. The Public Health Team (Stronger Communities Directorate) at the London Borough of Waltham Forest are responsible for commissioning these services. The current contract for an integrated all-age substance and alcohol use treatment and recovery service has been in place since July 2019 and has been delivered by Change Grow Live (CGL). CGL will continue to deliver the service until 2030.

CGL are a national charity and one of largest treatment and support providers in the country. Locally they provide a treatment, support and recovery service for Children & Young People and separately for Adults, with a transition service for those people moving between the two. CGL are active prevention partners working to educate, raise awareness and provide interventions that discourage individuals from starting or continuing substance use.
