Regeneration: North Waltham Forest High Street Strategies

South Chingford Aroma Terrace

During 2020 the Council’s Regeneration and Business Growth Teams will be working together to create High Street Strategies for the three town centres in North Waltham Forest working closely with local community groups, residents and businesses.

The aim of the High Street Strategies plans is to help shape the future of local high streets so they can grow, adapt and thrive in coming years in a way that responds to their unique local economy, character and heritage.

The High Street Strategies will include a comprehensive list of costed and prioritised local projects to improve the everyday spaces of each town centre and support local business.

This could, for example, include using vacant shops, meanwhile uses, creating new workspace, business support and small high street improvements.

The Council and community will be able to use the list for future funding applications.

We are keen for you to feed in your ideas into this process and take part in this survey by answering some questions about your high street.

The closing date for the survey is midnight on Sunday 1 March 2020.

We will analyse the survey results, publish details on our website and use the information when developing the Strategy.

There is a separate survey for each town centre, you can answer the survey for one, two or three town centres, but please don’t answer the same survey twice.

During summer 2020 we plan to hold a series of events where you will be able to comment on proposals as part of a draft strategy.

We aim to launch the final strategy in late 2020.
