Public participation is vital to delivering good planning.

We want to ensure that our plans are supported by residents, stakeholders and the community at large.

The Council is carrying out new consultation on the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report supporting the Local Plan. This relates to the preparation of the Site Allocations Development Plan Document. The consultation period runs from 18 March 2020 to 23 April 2020.

Sustainability Appraisal is a process to assess the social, environmental and economic impacts of a Plan and is required under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, and the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulation 2004.

Our preferred method for receiving consultation responses is through the Consultation Portal.

The Council consulted on the Sustainability Appraisal Report on the Draft Local Plan from Wednesday 9 October until 20 November 2019. This consultation has now closed.

Draft Local Plan Consultation

The Council consulted on a draft new Local Plan document during the period Monday 22 July to Monday 30 September 2019. This consultation has now closed.
