Permission to host events

WF Get Together

Alert

Organisers of events and activities held on council-owned land must obtain permission in advance from the council regardless of the event or activity's size or the number of participants and spectators attending.

Organisers will usually be required to submit an application and may be asked to provide insurance details, necessary permits, licences or certificates, and health and safety information.

While council permission is not necessary for events to be held on private land, we recommend that organisers notify us so that we can ensure adequate health and safety arrangements are in place.

A number of parks and open spaces within Waltham Forest can be hired by members of the public and outside organisations to hold events and activities. All events, no matter what size, must first be booked through the Green Space Service team and can only proceed once written permission has been received.

For more information see events in parks and open spaces.

Walthamstow Town Square and the Walthamstow Arcade site can also be hired for events.

For more information or to hire the Town Square or Arcade site visit the markets information page

Permission will be needed for the closure of roads to allow sporting events or parades to take place. The police must also be consulted.

For more information see demonstrations and parades.
