The Private Rented Property Licence Application Fee increased to £650 on 1 April 2016.

To make a full and proper Private Rented Property Licence application it is necessary to provide detailed information about the property, the applicant, the owner, the manager and the occupants of the property.

Much of the required information and documentation is required at the time of making your application.

As such, you should gather this information in advance of starting your application and have it to hand when completing the on-line form.

Some documents must be uploaded with the online application and therefore must be in digital form before you start the application process. Accepted file types include .doc, .docx, .pdf, .xls, .xlsx. Files can't be larger than 2MB.

Other documentation (listed below) can be requested at any time and would need to be submitted within 28 days of request.

Payment is made online with a debit or credit card as part of the licence application. We do not accept American Express or Diners Club.

To ensure online payment security and to reduce fraud, Waltham Forest Council uses a payment security system called 3D Secure. Your credit or debit card provider must be enrolled with this service and you must have registered your card with the system for payment to be accepted. You may be asked to verify your card on this system as part of the payment process. If you are unsure about his process you should contact your card provider before attempting payment.

Some card types are not compatible with this additional security. If this is the case, you are advised to use an alternative card. If you continue to have a problem with the payment process you should call Customer Services between 9am-5pm on 020 8496 3000.
