How to correct a record Click to get info

If there is an error on you certificate, you will need to apply to the General Register Office (GRO) to have this changed using the forms in each section below.

From 1st November 2017 there will be a charge of £75 for a correction and £90 if the correction has to be sent to the GRO for approval.

How much does it cost? Click to get info

Corrections that are able to be cleared locally £75
Corrections that must be sent to GRO for further consideration £90

Payment method will be via debit or credit card only. We do not accept cash.

If you don't have access to a computer, you can visit a Library Plus branch where you can use a self-service pc to log your request/report.  Staff are available to support you if you need it.​​​​​​​
