Consultation with both councillors and residents found that there were a number of challenges in making sure ward forums were successful in reaching and engaging with all sections of our communities. As a result we're broadening our approach to engagement with residents
Following the discussion, it was agreed that councillors would not be restricted to holding three ward forum meetings a year. Councillors can choose to hold a ward wide meeting if it is felt to be the most appropriate and effective platform for engaging with residents on a particular issue. They are also encouraged to use a variety of ways to engage with residents to represent the needs of the people living in their wards.
Please see our 'Your Local Councillor' web page to find out more about your ward, your councillor and dates of planned councillor engagement events including surgery dates.
There are also changes to how residents can apply for community ward funding.
