If you’ve been granted British Citizenship, attending a citizenship ceremony is the final step to officially becoming a British citizen. During the ceremony, you’ll make a pledge of allegiance to His Majesty the King and the United Kingdom.

At the end of the ceremony, you will receive your ‘Certificate of Naturalisation’, which allows you to apply for a British passport.

It can take up to 2 weeks for Waltham Forest to receive your certificate after you receive your Home Office invitation letter or email.

Children under 18 do not need to book a separate appointment, but please let us know if they will be attending.
