Welcome to the William Morris Gallery
The William Morris Gallery is the only public Gallery devoted to William Morris - designer, craftsman, writer, socialist and conservationist - and displays an internationally important collection illustrating his life, achievements and influence.
William Morris was born in Walthamstow in 1834. The Gallery is delightfully housed in the 18th Century Water House, Morris' family home from 1848 to 1856, and set in Lloyd Park in Walthamstow.
Opening times
The William Morris Gallery is open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm.
Pre-booked group and school visits are welcome on Tuesdays between 10am-5pm.

The William Morris Gallery will close for the Christmas period at 1pm on Thursday 24 December 2009 and will reopen at 10am on Saturday 2 January 2010.
Support the William Morris Gallery Development Project
We are currently seeking funding for an exciting £5 million project to develop the William Morris Gallery to create a first class visitor facility and a centre of excellence for the study of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement.
The art of the Desperate Romantics
Each month a key work by one of the Pre-Raphaelites will go on display in the Gallery. Currently on display is 'The Loving Cup', a watercolour by Dante Gabriel Rossetti and his assistants. This is a wonderful opportunity to view works which are not on permanent display.
