Stocktaking closure: Waltham Forest Archives and Local Studies Library

5pm Saturday 29 November to 10am on Thursday 18 December 2008.

Temporary closure is necessary to allow us to undertake stocktaking work in order to improve the availability of our holdings. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

All the other areas of Vestry House Museum will be open as usual.

Vestry House Museum serves as a centre for the collection, preservation and interpretation of the past and present story of the people of Waltham Forest. This includes:

  • Provision of a local history museum service for the Borough
  • Care and management of the Waltham Forest archives
  • Associated research
  • Diocesan-approved depository for records in Waltham Forest Deanery
  • Provision of the Borough’s Local History Library and printed collections
  • Provision of an enquiry service and public search room
  • School visits and educational service
  • Temporary exhibition and events programme
  • Photographic collection and enquiry service
