Budget announcement 2011/12:
Further one year increase in Small Business Rate Relief
This is important news for your business. The Chancellor of the Exchequer announced at the Budget extra help for small businesses.
The current temporary increase in Small Business Rate Relief, which started on 1 October 2010 and was due to end on 30 September 2011, will now continue for a further year (1 October 2011 to 30 September 2012).

You may be entitled to a reduction of up to 50% in your business rates if the Rateable Value(s) of your property or properties total less than £25,500

Moving into or out of a business premises in Waltham Forest

Important: reporting changes in circumstances
If your circumstances change after you have been granted a relief, it could affect your entitlement - for example, if you have starting trading from an empty premises or are no longer entitled to small business rates relief.
You must tell us about any changes in circumstances that would affect your reduction, within 21 days of the change. To do this complete our online change in circumstance form or contact us on 020 8496 3000 today .
Paying your business rates
Business rates instalments are payable over 10 months from April to January in every financial year.
Payments must reach the Council by the first of each month. If you pay by cash, you should allow at least 7 working days for your payment to reach your Business rates account. If you pay online the payment will show on your account the following day.
