Restaurant closed by magistrates
Following action by Waltham Forest Council, magistrates have ordered a Leytonstone restaurant to stay closed until infestations of mice and cockroaches are dealt with.

Big Screen goes live
The Waltham Forest Big Screen is now up and running.
Residents of all ages joined together last Friday to watch the grand opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Games, live on the Big Screen in Walthamstow town square.

London Youth Games success

Walthamstow Library fire update
Following the small fire at Walthamstow Library, the restoration of services is progressing well.
From Monday 28 July all public areas and stock, including the reference area, will be available for use. We are working to restore full computer services.
There are now ten public PCs available, with free internet access in the Adult Fiction area on the ground floor. It will be a further 4-6 weeks until full computer services are available again. We thank you for your cooperation during this period.
