William Morris Gallery

The William Morris Gallery is the only gallery devoted to the life and work and of the influential designer, craftsman and writer William Morris, who was born in Walthamstow in 1834.

The William Morris Gallery is closed for redevelopment until July 2012.

Vestry House Museum

The charming Vestry House Museum explores the history of life, work and leisure in Waltham Forest. We offer an exciting temporary exhibitions programme, free family activities and award-winning community garden. You can also make an appointment to view our fascinating photo archive.

Vestry House Museum is open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm. Admission is free. Pre-booked groups and school visits are also welcome on Tuesdays.

Archive and Local Studies Library

Vestry House is also home to the Waltham Forest Archive and Local Studies Library. Here you can access a wealth of resources for researching your family history or the history of the local area by prior appointment.

The Archive and Local Studies Library is open Thursday-Saturday, 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm. Visits are by prior appointment only.
