Welcome to Waltham Forest's Local Strategic PartnershipThe Waltham Forest Local Strategic Partnership brings together the senior decision makers of organisations working in the key areas of the environment, employment, education, crime, health and housing. Each of the six theme partnerships that make up the LSP have their own particular responsibilities for improving the quality of life for all people who live and work in the Borough. Children and Young PeopleWorking together to develop the strategy of services for children and young people, focusing on the five outcomes specified in every child matters. Employment and EnterpriseWorking together to coordinate an approach and oversee the development and implementation of an enterprise, employment and skills strategy for the borough. Healthier CommunitiesWorking together to improve the health and wellbeing of residents by influencing the wider determinants of health and improving clinical services HousingWorking together to secure a joined-up strategic approach to achieving mixed sustainable communities in Waltham Forest and delivery of the Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) housing priority. SafetyNetThe police, the Council and other agencies across the borough who are involved in making the borough safer all work together in a partnership that we call ‘SafetyNet’.They all work together to cut crime and tackle anti-social behaviour. Sustainability and the EnvironmentWorking together to improve overall public satisfaction with the access, quality and cleanliness of public space and the built environment. One particular goal is that people should not be disadvantaged by where they live and so there is a special emphasis on narrowing the gap between the most deprived neighbourhoods and the rest. This is being managed via the Better Neighbourhoods Initiative. The LSP and its constituent partners have also played a lead role in the development of the new Sustainable Community Strategy for Waltham Forest. |
