Love your borough
During 2009 Waltham Forest Council has been tackling enviro-crime in the borough. Like you, we are fed-up of the borough being ruined by fly-tipping, littering, dog fouling, graffiti and fly-posting. We have led Big Clean Ups, enforcement blitzes and projects focusing on educating and eliminating these problems in the borough.
However, we know that it is only a small number of people who take part in acts of enviro-crime and that thousands of people love living in Waltham Forest. Therefore, in support of the Council’s Wiping out enviro-crime campaign we launched a Love your borough project which focused on civic pride. We launched this project with a photographic competition in September 2009. See love your borough photographic competition.
These photographs, alongside 56 runner up images, are now being displayed as part of a photographic exhibition celebrating the borough on the former Arcade site, at the junction of Hoe Street and High Street, Walthamstow.
