We are at the beginning of a new and exciting stage in the planning and future development of Waltham Forest. “Our Place in London” - the Sustainable Community Strategy for Waltham Forest gives us the foundations upon which to build a truly sustainable community for all of us to enjoy to the full. Having developed the Community Strategy, we are now starting to prepare our Local Development Framework (LDF). The LDF will take forward many of the key objectives of the Community Strategy and will interpret them spatially so that what happens on the ground best reflects what the local community wants to see in Waltham Forest. Once adopted, the LDF will replace the current Unitary Development Plan (UDP) as the statutory development plan for the borough.
