Purpose

To work in partnership to coordinate an approach and oversee the development and implementation of an enterprise, employment and skills strategy for the borough.

Main responsibilities

To drive the coordination, development and delivery of an Enterprise and Skills strategy for the borough

To disseminate information back to the members’ respective organisations and integrate LSP strategy with that of member organisations  

Development and monitoring of Local Area Agreements  

To report on progress to the LSP Board

To ensure that information on performance is disseminated through area based structures

To ensure that strategy is informed by area based consultation

To approve proposals to achieve targets

To ensure commissioning arrangements are in place to deliver on approved interventions

To establish task groups as necessary to meet strategic objectives

Act as ambassadors to promote the Enterprise and Skills strategy

Work together on issues of regional significance

Governance

The Partnership will adhere to the LSP governance arrangements and any governance recommendations made by the LSP Board.

Public statements

All requests for public statements should be referred to the LSP Lead Officer.

Personal commitment

Members are asked to demonstrate personal commitment through:

Giving a high priority to meetings of the theme group

Reading agenda papers before the meetings

Upholding the values of the theme group

Promoting equality and diversity

Doing their utmost to represent the partnership whenever they can

Period of membership

Membership will be reviewed on a 2 year basis.

Termination of membership

A member who misses three of the quarterly meetings in any one year or 3 consecutive meetings shall have their membership terminated unless the Theme Partnership accepts that there have been justifiable reasons for the absence.

Review

Terms of reference will be reviewed on an annual basis.
