African aerobics class (new in Walthamstow)

Bored by circuit training, step aerobics and legs, bums and tums?  Why not try an aerobics class with a difference.  Taught by experienced African dance artist, Ernest Kwame Obeng, this class on Tuesday evenings is all about fitness and fun. Combining African rhythms and moves with classic aerobic exercises, the class is now in its sixth week.  Attendees of all ages and standards are finding they can build stamina, lose weight, increase flexibility and leave their stress at the door and go home feeling happy and relaxed.Cost is £5 per class

The tutor is a former dancer with the Ghana National Dance Ensemble and Adzido Pan African Dance Ensemble (London). He took part in BBC1's Strictly African Dancing (2005) and is a regular teacher in schools, festivals and community settings across London and the South East.

An innovative project aimed at adults living in Waltham Forest who have mental health problems, providing an opportunity to get fit, improve physical and mental health, meet people and improve football skills. Sessions are run by coaches from Leyton Orient Community Sports program.

The project can also assist people to take FA level 1 coaching courses and has opportunities for volunteers to assist in the project as well as a range of social activities such as watching Leyton Orient matches and  5-a-side tournaments.
