Conditions for control of builders skips under section 139 Highways Act 1980
A builders skip shall not be deposited on a highway without permission from the Highway Authority for the Highway.
Permission may be granted after due application by the skip owner or operating company through Waltham Forest Council, which will lay down certain conditions, such as:
- the siting of the skip
- its dimensions
- the manner in which it is to be coated with paint and other material for the purpose of making it immediately visible to oncoming traffic.
- the care and disposal of its contents
- the manner in which it is to be lighted or guarded
- its removal at the end of the period of licence
- payment of the appropriate fee
- place authorisation notice in the front ground floor window of premise authorised
