The cycle lanes are generally between 1- 1.2 metres wide increasing to 2 metres in parts of High Road Leytonstone.
There are now over 70 Advanced Stop Lines. These help cyclists at junctions by giving them a headstart in front of queuing traffic. Motor vehicles should not stop in them. There are also two cycle bridges in Leytonstone and two major roundabouts with cycle underpass facilities.
Cycle lanes are also included in all new traffic-calming schemes as in Leytonstone Town Centre where there is a contra-flow lane in a one-way section.
