The Council's policy is to provide cycle gaps at all road closures to give cyclists an advantage over motor vehicles. Where one-way streets are introduced, the possibility of providing a contra-flow for cyclists will be examined and where the roads are wide enough, contra-flow cycle lanes will be provided.
