Cycle parking currently ranges from simple Sheffield-type stands to lockers and a secure bike shed using an electronic smartcard system offering individual bike security.
Cycle parking in shopping centres
Cycle stands have been provided at the town centres of Walthamstow - the High Street market area, Hoe Street and Bakers Arms - and Leytonstone on High Road Leytonstone itself and Church Lane. Cycle stands are also provided intermittently around the borough at specific locations such as libraries and sports centres.

Walthamstow bike shed facility is provided by the London Borough of Waltham Forest and has the capacity to hold 60 cycles. Access cards are available at a cost of £5 each. The cards can be obtained from the Waltham Forest Direct Shop, 137 Hoe Street, Walthamstow, E17 4RT. (Opposite former arcade site)
You can call in anytime between 8.30am-6pm Monday to Friday and 9am-1pm on Saturday. For security reasons you will need to present a form of photo identification (e.g. passport, driving licence, NUS card) and proof of address. The £5 payment can only be made by debit or credit card.

The bike shed in Leytonstone opened in May 2005. This locked shed can only be accessed using a smartcard. Bikes can then be locked to one of the Sheffield stands inside. Use of this bike shed is free although a £5 deposit is required for a smartcard. These can be obtained from the Leytonstone First Stop Shop.
