The Accident Prevention Unit is responsible for road, home and water safety education training and publicity in the borough.
The unit will…
- Check your children’s car seats
- Visit nursery and under 5s groups to offer advice to parents on basic road safety
- Visit all schools to train younger children in basic road and home safety and older children in pre driver training
- Visit community groups to talk about safety
- Visit Anti natal and post natal groups to talk about home and car safety
- Provide cycle training courses in schools and additional courses over the summer holidays
- Organise driver assessment events run by the local group of the RoSPA Advanced Drivers Association (NETRoADA).
- Organise and run road safety campaigns
- Provide information stands for exhibitions and community events
