A council may provide MOT testing of vehicles where council garages have been accredited to perform tests on vehicles for local citizens and businesses in addition to council vehicles.
Waltham Forest Transport Services have an approved MOT Test centre and is able to offer MOT testing facilities to the general public at:

Class 4 £50.35 - up to 8 passenger seats and goods vehicles to 3,000
Class 4 £52.60 - from 9-12 seats without seat belt checks
Class 5 £54.65 - from 12-16 passenger seats
Class 5 £74.10 - over 16 passenger seats
Class 7 £53.80 - goods vehicles up to 3500 KG DGW
Re-test less than 10 working days (Monday to Saturday) £20
Payment is by cash, cheque (with card). Debit and credit card facilities are available if required.
It is helpful to bring along your current MOT certificate.
The centre is open to the general public by appointment. Opening hours are:
- 8.30 am to 2.00 pm Monday to Friday (closed for lunch 12.00pm - 13.00pm)
Please note that we offer an inspection-only service, we do not carry out repair work on any vehicles. Therefore the test is an independant examination.
