In April 2007 The London Borough of Waltham Forest entered into a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Waltham Forest Borough Police and our removal contractor Redcorn Ltd, to impound vehicles being driven without valid insurance or otherwise than in accordance with a driving licence.
Vehicles are impounded under power given to police contained within Section 165a Road Traffic Act 1988 and are stored at our contractor’s pound.
These vehicles are only released on payment of removal and storage fees and production of approved documentation as described on the documents given at the time the vehicle is seized.
Any vehicle that is not claimed within 14 days is destroyed.
