Marion Waruguru has over 10 years public and voluntary sector experience obtained while working for the Child Mental Health Services, Tower Hamlets; Providence Row Housing Association; Migrant Women’s Network; and as Development Officer for Women’s Interfaith Network. In addition to this she also sits on the Board of the Ethnic Minority Partnership Agency, and is an active member of Barking and Dagenham Faith Forum.

Marion has developed and supported other individuals and groups to set up and manage community projects like Health Advocacy, Volunteer Management and Personal Skills Development programmes and has experience of sitting on grant-making panels like the Neighbourhood Renewal Community Chest.

Marion's faith work has involved sitting on her church’s youth work sub-committee and planning and delivering activities for the youth group as well as women’s activities. In addition, she has worked with faith organisations to highlight community concerns through media campaigns and representation at meetings with statutory authorities.
