The Parenting Support Service of the Youth Offending Team offers support, advice and guidance to parents or carers of young offenders and young people who are at risk of offending.
The aim of the Parenting Support Service is:
- to support parents and to reduce youth offending
- to prevent youth offending
- to increase parents confidence and help them to address their childrens needs
- to offer guidance and information to parents to tackle their young persons behaviour
- to offer an environment where parents are taken seriously and listened to
We are aiming to work with the parents/carers in partnership and to work towards the best possible solutions. 8 out of 10 parents who used our service said they were glad they did and that it had made a positive difference in their lives.
Parents or carers of young offenders can contact the Parenting Co-ordinator Karl Fichtel on 020 8496 5035 or email him at karl.fichtel@walthamforest.gov.uk
