Latest news: Waltham Forest calls on Boris Johnson for more police

13 Oct: Having campaigned for more permanent police on the borough’s streets, Waltham Forest Council is making it personal: we’re calling on Boris Johnson for back-up.

Despite sympathy and support from the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) there’s been no movement whatsoever and Waltham Forest is tired of the standstill. The Council has an excellent working relationship with its local police force, but also recognises that they are seriously under-resourced and the problem does not appear to be improving. Indeed, recent figures even show that Waltham Forest has LOST two permanent police officers in the past year.
