Don’t suffer in silence – report all hate crime

You can report hate crime by:

Calling

  • In an emergency call 999
  • Waltham Forest Direct on 020 8496 3000 and ask for hate crime reporting (Minicom 020 8496 3010)
  • Waltham Forest Police on 101
  • Waltham Forest Police Community Safety Unit on 020 8529 8666

The Community Safety Unit is responsible for the investigation of domestic violence, racial incidents, homophobic incidents, faith and age related crime, hate mail and crimes against people with disabilities in the borough. This unit is staffed with male and female officers who are specially trained to deal with these crimes.

All enquiries will be dealt within a confidential, discreet and sensitive manner.

Reporting it online

By filling in the online hate crime incident reporting form. All incidents that are reported by victims or witnesses will be forwarded to Waltham Forest Borough Police for action.

This form can be completed anonymously. Even without the victims details the hate crime information reported helps the police and Council to collect intelligence and identify hotspots where crimes are being committed.

Visiting a hate crime incident reporting site

A hate crime incident reporting site allows you to report crimes without having to go directly to the police station, and include places of worship, housing providers, voluntary and community-based organisations. You can report a hate crime or hate incidents anonymously and in strict confidence. You can discuss your experience with a specially trained member of staff to complete a hate crime incident reporting form.
