“The Council’s priority at this time is to ensure the safety and well being of those residents who have been evacuated.
“The evacuated residents have been provided with food, and further arrangements are taking place to temporarily accommodate eligible residents. The Council has worked closely with the Primary Care Trust and a District Nurse is on site to help with any medical needs.
“The Council has without hesitation assisted residents affected by the fire and will ensure that eligible residents are provided with temporary accommodation.
“I am pleased to confirm that two families with children will soon leave the rest centre and be placed in temporary accomodation.”
