In the immediate response to a major emergency, the Council rightly focuses on efforts to save the lives of our residents. However businesses are also an important part of the community and in the long-term, their survival and success will be a key part of the Borough’s recovery. Civil Contingencies Unit (CCU)

Waltham Forest Council plays a key role during major emergencies by supporting the work of the emergency services, providing assistance to the people affected and maintaining critical services. The CCU is responsible for ensuring the Council fulfils its obligations in this regard.
