Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Planning
The Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Management Team provides and develops the overall policies and objectives of the Council's emergency response and business continuity plans in accordance with the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).
It ensures there are contingency arrangements in plans to meet the shortages and disruptions that would follow a major peacetime emergency incident and preparedness for council services to respond to a major emergency, ensuring the maximum use of precautions and resources to reduce the threat to a multi-racial community.
Waltham Forest works closely with our neighbouring boroughs as part of the North East London Mutual Aid Group, and takes an active part in developing pan-London plans through the London Local Authority Emergency Planning Group and in association with the London Resilience Team.

Risks to North East London
The Council works with our partners in North East London to assess the risk of emergencies occurring within our area. We do so in order to produce effective plans to deal with these risks as they occur.
Risk assessment is a continual process, but periodically we collect all of our current assessments of risk into a single document called a Community Risk Register. This document is available for the public to view, and is published on our behalf by the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority on their website.
The Community Risk Register for North East London can be found here at www.london-fire.gov.uk/about_us/media/CRRne.pdf
If you have any questions about the Register or how it was put together, please do not hesitate to contact the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority:
