Our Area Matters . . . working together to tackle crime and disorder

Our Area Matters is a campaign that gives residents, local businesses, ward councillors and partner agencies the chance to tell Waltham Forest Council what environmental and anti-social behaviour crimes they think need to be tackled in their area.

The Council, the police and its partners are all working together to cut crime, tackle anti-social behaviour and reduce drug and alcohol misuse.

Every ward in Waltham Forest will be visited. So we need you to tell us the problems so we can see what action we can take.

Problems that will be tackled include:

  • Graffiti
  • Fly tipping
  • People who litter
  • Removing abandoned or untaxed vehicles
  • Repairing roads and pavements
  • Stopping drivers of untaxed and uninsured vehicles
  • Issuing crime prevention and fire safety advice
  • Underage sales of tobacco, alcohol, solvents and illegal sale of fireworks
  • Confiscating counterfeit goods
  • Illegal parking
  • Issuing acceptable behaviour contracts
We can also deal with breaches of tenancy and have a high visibility police and street warden patrols.

All the information received will be analysed along with the latest crime trends and used to develop a plan of action that will result in a major operation to tackle crime and anti social behaviour and other problems in the ward.

Whatever the problem, give us a call or send an email to see what action we can take.
