The Council’s Building Control team has been awarded a national Charter Mark in recognition of the excellent customer services it provides.
The Building Control team protects the health and safety of people in and around buildings by ensuring they comply with the national building standards.
The Charter Mark assessors were particularly impressed with how pleased customers were with the service’s flexibility, adaptability and helpfulness. The report also praised the clear development plans that are in place for staff and the way staff are helped to get suitable professional qualifications.
Charter Mark is the Government's award scheme for recognising and encouraging excellence in public service.
Run by the Service First Unit of the Cabinet Office it specifies criteria by which a public sector organisation can demonstrate that it puts its users first and is delivering a first class service. The award lasts for three years and winners are entitled to use the Charter Mark logo.
