Sports development activities and events
Waltham Forest Sports Development Team promotes and delivers sports and physical activities to all sections of the community, with the aim of encouraging healthier lifestyles, greater participation and improved quality of life. We believe that sport and exercise are important contributors to your physical and mental well-being.
The team are responsible for the co-ordination of borough teams that complete in a range of competitions and there are lots of opportunities for you to be involved.
Free swimming for under 16s and over 60s
London Borough of Waltham Forest will offer free swimming at its leisure centres for all children and young people 16 and under and all over 60s from 1 April 2009.

Leisure centres
Take part in sport and physical activity at one of five leisure centres in the borough, in partnership with Greenwich Leisure Ltd, a not for profit leisure trust. The Peter May Centre is also included in this offer.
Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme
Waltham Forest also works in partnership with Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme, a community based charity that runs a range of innovative and creative sports and educational projects in Waltham Forest and other London boroughs.
