Witch Hunt

14 January - 25 March 2012

With her broomstick, pointed hat and black cat, the witch is one of the most iconic and infamous characters from fairytale, folklore and fiction. Yet behind this image lies a true story of paranoia and persecution during the 16th and 17th centuries. In this exhibition, the focus is on the East Anglian witch-hunt of 1645-47, and it explains how and why this tragedy occured.
A touring exhibition by Epping Forest District Museum.
