Vestry House Museum has prepared a series of travelling display panels for short term loan to schools, community groups and other interested organisations. The displays look at aspects of past life in the Waltham Forest area using photographs, illustrations and documents drawn from the museum's collections. They can be used as a focus for special projects or as an interesting display in their own right. They are aimed at prompting interest and discussion wherever they are shown.
The displays are supplied either as laminated panels or as a series of perspex covered panels with bases, supports and fittings. These perspex covered panels are light weight, free standing, easy to assemble and can be arranged to fit conveniently in a variety of indoor locations. They are supplied with a simple instruction leaflet. Borrowers are expected to make all transport arrangements themselves. The largest single component measures 40" x 23.25" x 0.5" and will fit into most larger car boots. The laminated displays do not require display stands, just a sufficient area of wall space.
When booking allow yourself sufficient time to both collect and assemble the display and to dismantle and return it or you may inconvenience another user. Borrowers are expected to accept full responsibility for the display whilst it is on loan and may wish to consider arranging insurance. Since the displays are in regular demand they are lent for up to two weeks, and given their popularity, borrowers are encouraged to book well in advance.
