Level Crossing near the Higham's Park Railway Station, c1930. Cheap Worker's fares were provided from Liverpool Street Station to Higham's Park, but not as far as Chingford. It was this that dictated the style of house development in Chingford. At Higham's Park smaller houses were built which were affordable to the average working man, however around Chingford Station larger houses developed.
