Year 11 pupils from Kelmscott School have worked with artist Rachel I’Anson as part of the BTEC First in photography. Exploring film and digital media, they have created images taking nightmares as the starting point. Pupils used darkroom and Photoshop techniques to create their work. BE VERY AFRAID!

The SEER

‘The SEER’ exhibition is a collection of recent works from Carne Griffiths expanding on a collection of automatic drawings and notebooks. The work illustrates and draws influence from the visionary notes of Leonardo Da Vinci and takes elements from Greek mythology whilst exploring the dream like world of the artist where chaos and androgyny companionship and sensuality are recurring themes.

Growing up in the East End, Vaseem has always been interested in the shapes, textures and atmospheres of his post-war urban childhood. In his work there exists a recurring symbolism of juxtaposition- archaic eastern architecture and Islamic calligraphy from past eras, confronts modernist, western abstract style of painting. This show explores these themes further by giving his twist on the world’s familiar and unfamiliar territories.

I have epilepsy. I find that it is not easy to express my epileptic experiences in words, so I use my art to describe them in hope that it will help others to understand. I’ve worked with other epileptic sufferers and their thoughts, feelings and sensations to find a way of communicating what they also experience using expressive art.
