Leyton Library Refurbishment
Major improvements will be made to Leyton Library as part of our Library Refurbishment Programme to deliver exciting new spaces to study, learn, read and relax.
Our refurbishment will include:
- Improved access to the building
- Improved book stock
- Lift access within the building, making all floors available for public use
- RFID self issue and self return
- WiFi wireless Internet access
- Improved layout
Here is our latest update on the Refurbishment Programme at Leyton Library:
The main library will close at 12noon on Friday 30 October 2009 and will reopen at the temporary library on Monday 2 November 2009 at 10am.

The library is open:
- Monday, 10am-6pm
- Tuesday-Friday, 9.30am-6pm
- Saturday, 9.30am-5pm

Leyton Library offers a wide range of books, CDs, and internet access including:
- Adult fiction, non-fiction and large print stock
- Books in community languages
- Selection of newspapers, magazines and journals
- Children's section with a wide variety of stock - board books, picture books, stories, information books and books in dual text
- Children's story cassettes and CDs
- Teenage section
- Audio library with tapes and CDs for hire including language courses
- Computer use including FREE Internet access and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint)
- Councillors surgeries (call for further details)
- Photocopy services
