Library Refurbishment Programme
Following the successful refurbishment of Walthamstow, Leytonstone, Hale End and North Chingford Libraries, the next stage of the Libraries Refurbishment Programme has begun.
Major improvements will be made to Leyton Library and Lea Bridge Library as part of our programme to deliver exciting new spaces to study, learn, read and relax.
Our refurbishment of both libraries will include:
- Improved access to the buildings
- Improved book stock
- Lift access within the buildings, making all floors available for public use
- RFID self issue and self return
- Wifi wireless Internet access
- Improved layout

Lea Bridge Library
The refurbished main library is now open!
We aim to provide a comprehensive library service including:
- Books for adults and children
- A limited number of public computers
- Newspapers
- Photocopying
Coming soon:
- New ICT suite
- Community room
- Lift access
Leyton Library
The temporary library is at:
340 High Road, Leyton E10 5PW (opposite Coronation Gardens)
We aim to provide a full library service from the temporary library facilities at Leyton including:
- Books for adults and children
- Public computers
- Newspapers
- Photocopying
- Current opening hours
