Waltham Forest Council's Private Sector Leasing Team are responsible for providing alternative housing solutions to those homeless families in priority housing need that meet the criteria necessary for the Council to find them housing.
The role of the Private Sector Leasing Team is to:
- Procure properties suitable for leasing
- Promote an improved standard of housing in the private rented sector
- Develop further the partnership between the private sector landlords and the Council
- Encourage owners of empty properties to bring them back into occupation
- Look at innovative mechanisms to secure housing for those in housing need
