Warm Front Grant
This is a Government scheme, which offers grants of up to £2,700 (or £4, 000 if oil central heating is required) to homeowners or private tenants.
Who can apply?
Households aged 60 or over, and who are allowed one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based)
- Pension Credit
Householders who have a child under 16, or are pregnant and have been given maternity certificate MAT B1 in relation to the pregnancy concerned, and also allowed one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Jobseeker's Allowance (Income Based)
- Pension Credit
Householders allowed one or more of the following benefits:
- Working Tax Credit (with income of less than £15,460 and must include a disability element)
- Disability Living Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £15,460)
- Housing Benefit and Disability Premium
- Income Support and Disability Premium
- Council Tax and Disability Premium
- War Disablement Pension (and Constant Attendance Allowance or Mobility Supplement)
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit and Constant Attendance Allowance
- Attendance Allowance

London Warm Zone - Decent Homes programme
The East London Warm Zone carries out door-to-door assessments on behalf of Waltham Forest. The aim is to identify residents who are entitled to heating measures, such as central heating and boiler installation. Their assessments also include a benefit check to ensure residents get all the benefits they are entitled to.
Eligibility criteria
Residents receiving one or more of the benefits listed below:
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Benefit
- Child Tax Credit
- Income based job seekers allowance
- Working Tax Credit
- Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
- War Disablement Pension

Home Energy Efficiency Training
Home Energy Efficiency Training (HEET) is a not-for-profit organisation working in Waltham Forest. HEET carries out a range of energy efficiency and security works for vulnerable and elderly owner-occupiers and private tenants that can help make the home safer and warmer.

London Warm Zone ‘Able to Pay Scheme’
London Warm Zone also offer all householders, regardless of income, discounts of up to 70% to have loft and cavity insulation installed by their approved contractors. The scheme is managed by Osborne Energy.
