About Ascham Homes
Ascham Homes is an 'arms length management organisation' (ALMO). This is a not-for-profit company set up by Waltham Forest Council in May 2003 to manage and improve the housing that it owns.
Ascham Homes manages 10,516 homes (including 1820 leasehold properties) on behalf of the Council. The Council continues to be the landlord of these homes. Below are some of Ascham Homes' responsibilities:
- Collecting rent
- Carrying out certain repairs to tenants' homes (not leaseholders)
- Repairs to communal areas and lifts
- Carrying out major work to the buildings and estates
- Getting homes ready for new tenants
- Dealing with anti-social behaviour and nuisance on Ascham Homes estates
- Cleaning and maintaining the estates
- Processing applications to buy homes
- Dealing with issues from leaseholders
- Dealing with complaints about Ascham Homes (in the first instance)
- Managing parking on estate roads and parking areas only
- Managing lighting on estates only
- Keeping the grounds and gardens on estates to agreed standards
- Maintaining any adaptations and aids in your home
- Managing garages on estates
