There are a wide variety of stalls on the market selling everything from the traditional fruit, vegetables and clothing to computer software. There are also restaurants and cafes which provide food and refreshments from many different parts of the world. The Sunday market will be a little different providing for farmers and growers and arts and crafts stalls.

The are a number of ongoing regeneration initiatives to improve Walthamstow Town Centre. Some of these are specifically designed to make the market and the High Street as attractive and customer friendly as possible and to create an environment in which it is pleasant to both shop and relax.

Trader information

Currently only casual trader licences are being issued to trade in the market and you should  contact the Street Trading Section, as listed below, if you are interested in obtaining such a licence. Preference will be given to traders who do not intend to sell Greengrocery, Women’s Outer Clothing (regardless of type) or Men’s Outer Clothing (regardless of type) as there is currently sufficient provision of these commodities.

The market operates a clashing policy that prevents the same item being sold within 5 trading sites. Traders are therefore asked to bear in mind that it will be more difficult to allocate licences for the more popular commodities, such as clothing, than for others.

All traders are required to provide proof of public liability insurance. Trading sites must be pre-booked and the fees are payable in advance.
