Under Section 34 of The Environmental Protection Act 1990 all businesses have a duty of care to dispose of their waste through authorised trade waste collection services and must be able to prove this.
You need to have a contract with a recognised waste management organisation to dispose of your trade waste. The maximum fine for dumping rubbish is £20,000 and/or 6 months imprisonment.
Domestic waste is collected within costs covered under the domestic rate. This is not the case with shops, factories and other businesses under the non-domestic rating system.

Waltham Forest trade waste bag service
The Waltham Forest bag service is only available to businesses that front on to the main roads in Waltham Forest. Please contact the Waste Services Team via 020 8496 3000 before purchasing to confirm if you are able to have the bags collected.
We only collect trade waste bags from the following roads:

The bags can ONLY be purchased using our secure online payment system by selecting the trade waste bags option and the quantity you require. The minimum purchase is a batch of 52 bags at £370. Purchases are in multiples of 52 only (e.g 104 bags £740, 156 bags £1,110).
We do not offer a delivery service.
All bags purchased need to be placed out between 6am and 9am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only on the pavement outside your premises where they are easy to see. If these time frames cannot be met then please seek an alternative waste provider for your needs.
Trade waste bags can only be collected by providing proof of a valid payment (please print your receipt at the end of the online purchase as this is the only valid form of payment) at a Customer Service Centre.
Please be advised that collections of trade bags must be made within 14 days of the original purchase date.

Cancelling your contract with Waltham Forest
If you wish to cancel your current contract with us, please put this in writing giving us 28 days notice to the address below for the attention of Trade Waste.
Refunds for the remainder of the payment period will be made once the 28 day notice has been provided
